T & T - very unimposing in the day time.
Interesting place which goes under a number of different guises. In the evening it’s a bar, gay friendly, but it doesn’t have much to distinguish it from 1,000 other small bars around Pattaya. However it’s the late night when this gets interesting. It changes in the early morning. Around 5 am, it changes and becomes more a karaoke place. It finally closes around 10am. It’s where the Thai boys go when they just don’t want to go to bed. Part disco and part Thai karaoke, you have to try it once in your life. My usual advice. Rustle up a gang of Thai boys and head over there. It’s the usual “buy a bottle of whiskey cheap” and pay for the mixers and ice.
Oh let me try to tell you where it is. From Soi Day/Night, head away from Tukcom and Pattaya Tai, till you hit the back cross road. This is soi 17 – it has the beer wholesalers on it. Turn left and head towards third road. Take the first right and it’s down there on the right. Alternately from Sunee Plaza, go out the “back” and walk past Happy Boys. Keep going and it’s along this road on the left. Any taxi driver or Thai lad will know it and help you find it.
UPDATE 01/02/12 I may be a bit late on this one, but T & T VERY late night karaoke has definitely gone. Someone told me “one of its 2 shophouses has now been knocked into the next door open karaoke bar and the main door has also now been bricked up… If T&T comes back it will not be in the same location”. This is not quite the case. There is a new sign there now saying ‘Stor Corner’ and the old illuminated T&T Pub sign has gone, but there is still a karaoke there and according to my friend it’s open from around 8pm to 4am.
