The photos of boys in any venue’s profile does not indicate they actually work there currently. Due to the temporary nature of work in Pattaya, waiters and hosts come and go with alarming regularity. Although we attempt to keep the list of venues up to date, it would be a never ending task keeping the pictures up to date. However we do try …

New Queens

New QueensRun by Marc and Theo for many years, this bar has been one of the stalwarts at the “far end” of Sunee Plaza. Far too few people venture this far along, but with Eros now opening just beyond, more are making the trek. And they are well rewarded. The bar is friendly and the boys will make you very welcome. Don’t hang around too long at Halloween though! The cobwebs in the photo were said to be real, and who know what ghosties and ghoulies were about that night!

Oud’s Bar

Oud'sThe indomitable Oud makes a grand host in this bar. His personality shines through and he will amuse and entertain you. Watch out for his “sister” who appears on special occasions. On other nights he and his boys will keep you royally watered (and fed).

The bar does a fine line of American snacks, including burgers, sloppy joes and a pulled pork sandwich that will leave your mouth watering.

Rainbow Bar

RainbowSmall bar, slightly “tucked away”. Friendly staff and reasonable priced drinks. German owner and German themed. If you fit that profile you’ll enjoy going here. Do give it a try!

Redgy’s Place

Redgy's PlaceGood bar. The boys have a great time and will try to drag you in as you pass. Don’t resist! Go in and enjoy it. Nice bar to sit and have a quiet drink. The friendly staff will take care of you and make sure your wants are catered for.

Samorn’s Bar

Nice bar in the busy part of Soi V.C. It’s got lots of hosts and they make you feel welcome. The drinks are reasonably priced and it’s friendly.

Sky Restaurant & Drink

skyNow open in the old Villa Rouge. It’s good to see the lights back on. The colour scheme is very orange and the imaginative use of the old “heads” from the Villa Rouge sign make a statement that is notable. The beer and drinks are a good price and the boys are friendly. The food has a French theme, but is a little pricey. Nice addition to the soi.

Stardust

New Western karaoke and fun bar opened in the old Topman/Cocktail/Wonderland site. It is managed by John and Sam who are making a good job of it. It’s an uphill struggle to get people into a new bar, since many think it’s still a gogo bar (which it is not). However the managers are keen to help and will either play music to your taste or help you to enjoy karaoke if that’s your thing.

If karaoke is not your thing, and you don’t fancy the music inside, why not sit on the terrace and watch the world go by. The drinks are the right price and the staff are friendly.

They have regular quiz nights and are talking about other parties and fun events. Watch this space …

Sunee Plaza Bar

Sunee Plaza BarNever officially named, this bar is known as the “Green chair bar” (the green faded to an off-white a long time ago), the “Plastic chair bar” or “Pay’s Bar” (after the lady who runs it). It is cheap and on a good corner to watch the world. Frequented by a number of young Thais, it’s an interesting bar. A good marker on the health of the tourist industry – if this bar is busy the area is doing OK. If it’s quiet, everyone’s in trouble!

It’s really noteworthy as it was the third bar to open in Sunee and still being managed by the original owner. No other bar can say that after more than 15 years. A good bar, frequently under-rated.

Swimming Pool bar at the Marina Inn

Marina Pool BarA nice place to sit and relax during the day. it makes a change from going to the beach. The bar is staffed by friendly people and they love to serve you. Sometimes they also do food, which is well cooked. The place makes a charge for non-guests, and another charge to use the loungers, but the fees are small. Open from mid morning to late in the evening. After dark it becomes another bar, frequented by the hotel guests and staff. Well worth popping in to.

Three Zone Bar

Small bar which doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves. Admirably run by Goh who looks after it. They have just started doing food and have a good Thai menu. The prices are right and the food is good. It’s also a very nice beer bar and again have good boys and good prices.

The restaurant service opens at 8.00 am and includes a nice English style breakfast at just 99B

Our reviewer went in on the first morning they were open. He had the large breakfast at 159B. He commented, “Great feast! Coffee (instant) and orange juice. Table water at no extra charge and offered a free refill on the coffee. Two toast, marmalade and butter. Three small hot dog style sausages, two slices fried ham, two rashers bacon, two eggs, fried potatoes and half a tomato. Then just as I was feeling stuffed, a plate of fruit arrived. I won’t have to eat for the rest of the day. All this for just 159B. Tiny criticism, the fried egg was a little ‘snotty’. but not bad at all. Considering this was their first day it can only get our best recommendation. Couldn’t fault the rest. ”

Well worth giving a try.

Up 2 U

German owned bar/restaurant which does splendid food and makes you welcome. The host is German and will welcome you as will his boys. The food is yummy, the portions are huge.

They have specials on various days and a Happy Hour late in the evening. Watch out for them as you walk past the swimming pool. The boys are keen to get you into their clutches!!!

Wan’s Cafe

Nice bar, opposite the swimming pool. It’s a bit quieter, and that’s one of its charms. They are doing a great wine deal (see the Forthcoming events page). Don’t be mislead by the name, it’s not a cafe, it’s a jolly good bar, with a few nice boys and excellent prices. Try it.

Wan’s Place

Run by Wan's Placethe inimitable Wan and he’s doing a great job of it. There always seem to be a good crowd of lads here to welcome you and a number of specials on the drinks menu. It’s a fun place to visit and you will have a great time here.

Popular with its locals and visitors alike.

Yaya

The site has a history of being a gogo bar, but now it’s been turned into a beer bar by Yaya. They have lots of cute waiters and great drinks. Yaya  himself (second from the right in this picture) is a great host and will make you feel part of the place the minute you walk through the door. Their special nights are well worth going to and they have a number of drinks specials (such as a cocktail of the month). Check it out!
