This is a really interesting place. Three words come to mind – rustic, homely and interesting. It’s quite easy to find – it’s on the main road from Pattaya to Jomtien – the Thappraya Road – just after the Thepprasit junction on the right. It’s right next door to the driveway to the Avalon Resort.
The entrance is quaint. A little wooden “bridge” through an arch into a garden area. The cafe itself is a place you could browse for ages – and they don’t mind if you do. The walls are covered with sketches. Some done by the owner and some by her pupils. Because this is also a place where they hold art workshops. (Ask for details if interested).
The drinks are good. I had a latte and it was flavoursome, not toooooo milky and plenty of coffee taste. They do pastries. The “Mille-feuille” I had was sweet and the pastry a little soft, but then I’m being a pedant. Their menu shows some interesting dishes all at the right prices. The toasted sandwich was just about perfect.
The place is an oasis. I won’t say you can’t hear the road, as you can, but it appears distant. And the sound of bird-song came over the top of it quite easily. Sitting in the garden is pleasant and you’re shielded from the real world. If you fancy getting away from it all for a bit, pop in and enjoy a leisurely cup and cake, or a slightly longer meal. You won’t regret it. it’s a little piece of rustic heaven fallen into the middle of sin-filled Pattaya. It really seems out of place, but then that’s what these reviews are about – showing you unusual or put-of-place places. Go there and enjoy it!
Their website is here (but it is all in Thai) – however Bing Translate make a reasonable job of translating it and you get the jist! Click here. Their Facebook Page has a number of pictures on it that will get your mouth watering!
