Countdown to Phuket Pride 2012 !!
When Bangkok´s Songkran 6 festivities are over for 2012 (April 13th – 15th) make sure you are ready for another of Thailand´s major gay festivals…PHUKET PRIDE which literally “hits the streets” from April 23rd through to April 28th.
Each consectutive year after the festival’s humble beginnings in the year 2000, it has seen greater numbers of local Phuket residents and international gay visitors attending, with 2011 boasting a figure of almost 10,000.
Events for this years festival include Mr. Gay Phuket competition, a Pool Party, Gay Day Cruise to Racha Island, Beach Volleyball tournament plus the big stage show party on the final weekend. More events will be announced over the coming weeks so please keep a close eye on the Phuket Pride official website for details, or click on Nicky’s Gay Phuket, which has a complete section devoted to the Pride event.

Glen’s 50th Birthday Party at the Copa Showbar
Last Friday was an important day for a certain venue owner in Pattaya’s Boyz Town. Mr. Glen, owner of the Copa Complex was 50 years young and celebrated the auspicious occasion with a party at the Copa Showbar.
By 11pm the place was packed with members of Glen’s family, friends, well wishers and customers eager to see the regular nightly Copa show with one major added ingredient…the unstoppable Miss Jason!
Firstly, a few numbers from the Copa show boyz and girlz including an EXCELLENT rendition of The Lazy Song by Jason Mars. Handsome lead, monkey masks and boyz in boxer shorts…..

Bondi Bar celebrates Chinese New Year !!
The Bondi Bar recently celebrated Chinese New Year with a host of stars, some were billed to appear and some took the microphone later on in the evening to help keep the packed crowd entertained.
The Bondi´s regular singing duo, Willy and Mandy, kicked things off with their excellent mix of ballads and more uptempo numbers. They appear at the Bondi Bar nightly at 9:30pm except for Wednesdays which is Bingay Night!!
Next up to entertain us was Blackpool vocalist Ricky Day. I had never seen Ricky perform before, he has an excellent voice and a great stage presence, so catch him if you can.
It was then time for the main act of the evening, Miss Jason and Maisie Trollette. These two really are a perfect combination and work very well together. They both have great singing voices and their humour, often improvised, is hilarious without being too vulgar. It also makes a huge difference that they have genuine affection and professional respect for each other. For the full report click here
Miss Pattaya Pride 2012 at Boyz Boyz Boyz
One of Pattaya Pride´s most popular fundraising events took place on Sunday night at Boyz Boyz Boyz, Miss. Pattaya Pride 2012. The venue was packed to the gills with wellwishers and supporters of the 27 contestants all seeking this coverted title. At around 11:30pm we were introduced to our judges for the evening, Miss. Jason, Dolly John and Poola May.
Our compare for the evening was the beautiful Khun Tong, winner of Miss. Tiffany´s 2006.
Before the audience saw their first glimpse of the contestants, the members of Boyz Boyz Boyz cabaret show gave us a terrific opening number “Beyond My Wildest Dreams”
Then it was time for Khun Tong to introduce us to all 27 contestants. The line up looked fabulous including some familiar faces from Pattaya´s cabaret shows plus sponsored contestants from all over Thailand. There were prizes on offer for Miss Popular, Best Costume and of course the top 3 winners. The audience were responsible for crowning Miss Popular by buying roses at 100 baht each and giving them to their favourite contestant. Copa Showbar presents…House of Gaga 3
Last Friday, the Copa Showbar in Pattaya´s Boyz Town saw the return of the fabulous Miss Gaga for another “special” performance. As the name suggests, this was her 3rd appearance at the Copa and, as always, played to a packed audience.
The evening started at around 10:30pm with the Copa´s erotic swim show. If you are local and it´s a while since you saw this unique show, the water tank has been newly renovated with better lighting which means a much clearer view of the sexy guys in speedos…..perfect!
During the short interlude, the Copa´s GoGo boys entertained the very mixed crowd whilst they waited for the main show to begin. The Gaga ladyboys and male dancers performed a total of 10 routines, some classics and some lesser known tracks, with their usual professionalism and GREAT costumes. The Copa Showbar presents…Fetish Friday 3
Last Friday evening saw the Copa Showbar in Pattaya´s Boyz Town present one of their regular special shows called Fetish Friday. Due to past popularity, this was the 3rd FF night with more to follow later this year. As always for these special nights the venue was packed with a mixture of locals and tourists alike. The evening started at around 10:30pm with the Copa´s twice nightly erotic swim show with swimwear clad guys performing underwater to the beat of “Enigma” style tracks. Boyz Boyz Boyz celebrates it´s 23rd Birthday!
Last Tuesday night saw the ever popular Boyz Boyz Boyz club in Boyztown celebrate it´s 23rd birthday with a special show. Jim Lumsden, as Madame Jim, was our compare for the evening having been at the helm of BBB since day one. The show started with an erotic shower scene from the “Bad Boyz” who can be seen nightly in the club at 10pm. Sexy!!
The main show then followed including several numbers by Madame Jim himself along with his cast of Ladyboys and male dancers. Since the clubs recent makeover, the show has become slightly more modern with some great new numbers including a brilliant rendition of “It Should´ve Been Me” by Yvonne Fair. Great!! Madame Karen celebrates her 80th birthday at The Venue
Sunday 4th December 2011 was a big day for a certain lady in Pattaya. Madame Karen, a regular visitor and performer at the Venue in Jomtien Complex turned 80 years young! The venue was packed with wellwishers looking forward to a performance by Karen herself and a show from the excellent Venue ladyboys and male dancers. Khun Paul opened the evening at around 10pm with a selection of light opera and show tunes. Paul can be seen at the Venue every Sunday evening when he performs alongside a shorter than usual program from the Venue show. For more about this story read here
The Copa Showbar present their 1st World Tour show !!
Last Friday evening the Copa Showbar in Pattaya´s Boyztown took their customers on a whistle stop tour around the world with a show featuring routines from countries including Japan, USA, Greece, South America and Thailand. As always with the Copa Showbar, costumes and routines were excellent giving the regular ladyboys and male dancers something new to perform and show off their obvious talents.
