Baan Souy – Soi 15 Thappraya Road

Pattaya, for many years now, has been a favourite destination for short term gay holiday makers and longer term visitors due to it´s unsurpassed liberal attitude to the LGBT community. With a multitude of hotels to chose from, both gay and gay friendly, the search for suitable accomodation can be daunting as well as time consuming. Baan Souy Resort with it´s recent opening are hoping to change all that. Owners, Jim Lumsden and Gordon May, founders of Pattaya´s Boyz Town are confident that Baan Souy offers the gay tourist to Pattaya something traditionally Thai and stylish….I tend to agree!!

Located along Thappraya Road between Pattaya town and Jomtien Beach, Baan Souy offers a secluded and quiet haven away from the hussle and bussle of Pattaya´s busy scene. The resort boasts 34 rooms ranging from spacious pool side studios to one or two bedroom suites around a large central swimming pool.

All rooms have an authentic Thai feel with all furnishings made in various areas of Thailand. They all include flat screen TV´s, DVD player, Fridge, Microwave, Safe and in-room WIFI internet. Canterbury Tales on Soi Chaiyapoon

Located in Soi Chaiyapoon, Canterbury Tales Cafe & Bookshop established in 2005 has become one of Pattaya’s best known Guest houses, they are a budget type accommodation in a superb location with the Baht bus route to anywhere right on our doorstep.

They offer guest friendly well equipped serviced rooms with free wifi, most rooms have a separate bedroom & lounge, balcony, all rooms have a fridge, en-suite, tea/coffee makers, sofa & recliner, dining table & chairs, A/C, fan, TV & DVD player, access to a large free DVD library.

They also offer one of the best all day full English breakfasts in Pattaya for 90 baht, also main meals such as fish & chips, chicken schnitzel, also Thai food all at very reasonable prices, Cafe opening hours are 8am to 8pm.

They have also Canterbury Tales Bookshop which has become the best stocked used bookshop in Pattaya, with many new books mostly Thailand related. Their main stock is used books with many sections and many languages and the exchange scheme is very popular as it makes a good read a cheap read. How it works is when you purchase a book, you read it & when you have finished with it you return it for 50% of the purchase price off the next book or books.

Orpheus House – Soi 1 Thappraya Road


This 30 room gay resort is now open. It is conveniently located and well placed to cater for gay men. it’s right on the road from Pattaya to Jomtien, close enough to walk to the gay sights in Pattaya and right by the Baht bus to the gay beach. The rooms are a good standard and the staff are friendly.

Sansuk Guesthouse – Soi 11 Thappraya Road

sansukLocated in fashionable Jomtien Nivate just outside Pattaya the Sauna complex is on three floors. The Ground floor has a Steamroom, a Sauna, a Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, Jacuzzi, a Bar and Restaurant serving professionally cooked and served Thai and Western Food. There is also a relaxing area with comfortable Sofas to watch the large TV, a Patio overlooking the area around the Swimming Pool where you can relax, have a drink and a snack. On the 2nd floor there is an area where you make your own entertainment with Dark Room, Relaxing Rooms, Showers and Toilets as well as Private Massage rooms with their own Showers and Toilets. On the 3rd floor they have more relaxing rooms, a Maze, Sauna, Steam Room, Toilets and Showers.

But Sansuk Sauna is not just a Sauna. You can go in and have a drink and a snack, or a professionally cooked meal, Thai and Western, with a bottle of wine and feel comfortable without having to take anything but your shoes off. There is no entrance fee if you are not using the Sauna’s Complex’s other facilities. They have free WiFi in the restaurant area. Like the Girl from Ipinima you can “Watch The Boys Go By”. Breakfast is served from 8 am to 12 Noon. After 12 noon breakfast is a la carte – 120 baht. There is a Snack Menu from 12 Noon The Main Menu is available from 3pm.

sansukAdjacent to Sansuk Sauna is a recently constructed Three Storied Guesthouse with 19 rooms. The Room Rate (which starts from 1500B low season) includes Breakfast and free entry to the Sauna Complex. There are no additions to the room rate – like taxes or service. Breakfast is served in the relaxed Sauna Restaurant overlooking the Gardens and Swimming Pool. There is also a Bar on the ground floor of the Guesthouse Breakfast is included in the room rate, as is use of the Sauna Complex which opens at 3pm at the moment, but Guesthouse guests are able to use the pool area and have a drink earlier than that.
