The photos of boys in any venue’s profile does not indicate they actually work there currently. Due to the temporary nature of work in Pattaya, waiters and hosts come and go with alarming regularity. Although we attempt to keep the list of venues up to date, it would be a never ending task keeping the pictures up to date. However we do try …

Bamboo Bar

bambooThis place is not in the Complex, but on the main road to the beach. once you’ve battled your way through the jungle at the entrance, it’s small but fun inside. Open from noon to midnight. It’s crowded late afternoon with people leaving the beach. The boys are a little older, but very willing.

Dick’s Cafe

dicksDicks is charming and comfortable. It’s a friendly place and does nice food all day. It’s open from 10 am to 1 am at night. They serve nice Thai food and Western food for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a late night snack. I’ve had many a nice wine there and they do good cocktails. Worth a try

Have a look at their really very good website here – www.dickscafe.com/jomtien

Dolce Vita Bar

This was a friendly bar before. Now it has expanded into the unit next door (which used to be Lub ov Boys) and they are doing amazing German food. Great place to sit, eat and enjoy the company of the boys. Wonderful atmosphere and the best quality German food around. Huge portions served by the legendary Erika.

They also have a guesthouse upstairs (Haus Mewie)

Festival Pub

festivalPleasant host bar between Dick´s Cafe & Duo House in Jomtien Complex.

Friendly boys & reasonable drinks prices.

Nice outside terrace area for watching the world go by & seating inside at the bar.

Ganymede Bar and Residence

GanymedeWell, this place has come on leaps and bounds. With the addition of Themae spa and Spilia karaoke, it’s now a mini complex in its own right.

The residence is great. The rooms are fresh and clean and a good price. They are frequently full, so book well in advance. The bar is well stocked with boys and drink and the former will delight in serving you the latter.

I can’t say too much – just I’ve given it a rare 5 star rating and suggest strongly you go along and try its delights.

You can look at their website here – www.ganymede-jomtien.com

L & N Bar

L and NNice bar in the Jomtien Complex. More “gay friendly” than gay and the waiters are not really for offing, so it’s not a host bar. But because it’s good, I’ve listed it. Good place to go in with friends and there’s a good atmosphere in there. Try it!

P2 Cocktail Lounge

Advertising itself as a coffee lounge, decoration art, fashion store and residence, it is gaining customers and a reputation. It’s very up-market and the prices of the clothes reflect that. The quality is there, and that’s a good thing. However the coffee is good and the atmosphere is nice. Well worth popping into and checking it out!

For all the details see their website – www.p2lounge.com

Pig & Whistle, Jomtien

The Pig and Whistle has come to Jomtien and apart from being a disaster for my waistline, it’s a very welcome addition. They are gay friendly and just outside the Complex (three shops towards the beach from the second entrance), but aren’t really a gay place. The hosts are all girls and very much so. The bar itself is smaller than its counterpart in Pattaya, and they have three TVs with sports on them. That gives me my only complaint – the sound from all three added together makes any one hard to hear, and makes conversation a tad difficult. But hey!

They are open from 8.30 am and have the full range of food from the Soi 7 branch. So gut busting breakfasts, amazing fish and chips and wonderful Sunday roasts have arrived.

The drinks are the right price and it’s one of the few places in the area that does good draft beer (including draft Guinness). If you want some sport, a pint and a great English meal, give it a try!

The Pink Car

This is a fun Cocktail Camper at the start of the Jomtien Complex. It’s always busy and they’ve just put more chairs out to cope with the crowds. Well worth dropping into. The atmosphere is right and it’s fun and funky.

The owner is a great chap and has the right idea. The cocktails are imaginative and a good price. Makes a great start to the evening.

The Pour House

pour houseCheap drinks, good fun, nice boys, great atmosphere. They have regular music from their house musician and frequent parties. It already has a good atmosphere and promises great things. If you fancy a hassle free drink then try here.

They have a new website at www.pourhousejomtien.com – check it out!

Question Mark Bar and Q.M.

question markAlways a favourite. They bought the girly bar next door (Party Times) and now have double the space. The new extension is called “Q.M”. It’s got loads of hosts who know how to give you a good time. There are rooms upstairs for massage, and this is offered with a smile. The service isn’t too professional, but you get a great time there. The pool table downstairs and the cheap drinks make this a place worth going in to. Nice

Update 11/05/11 The new bar (Q.M.) has just started doing snack food. They are open Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 am to 10.30 pm. Breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers and snacks. Well worth considering!

Spilia Karaoke Bar

spiliaNew Karaoke lounge attached to the Ganymede Complex. A great idea as it has filled a “hole” in the market in Jomtien. It is well organised and although not my personal cup of tea, the boys I was with on the night I visited had a great time and a fantastic party. They have three private lounges and a main karaoke room. They are open nightly from 10pm to 6am and advertise a “party every night”. I can vouch for a party on the night I went, give it a try… and if you don’t like karaoke, take some Thais along with you who do and the party mood will carry you along!

Two Faces Bar

two facesGreat venue in the heart of Jomtien Complex offering a multitude of services!!

A large open air bar & cafe serving reasonably priced drinks & excellent coffee. Very relaxed atmosphere & the bar boys are friendly but not overpowering.  Free WIFI internet access is available.

Accommodation upstairs features several Thai style rooms starting at 850 baht per night. Rooms are large with 4 poster beds, table & chairs, en-suite bathroom, fridge & safe. Special rates available for longer stays.

You can also have a massage from one of the bar boys..what more could a man ask?

The Venue Showbar

The VenueBoutique residence, spa, showbar, and all things good in the heart of the Jomtien Complex and within easy reach of the beach. It has been open long enough now to settle down and some of the early teething troubles have passed. It’s now great. There’s no other word for it. The residence has a pool and spa, wifi in every room, and all the luxuries you could want. Rates are reasonable and all in all it’s a good place to stay. Recently reviewed as the best place for its price in Pattaya, I’m not in a position to argue with that.

Many people consider its show to be the best in Pattaya. There are two different shows on Monday to Saturday and a special one on Sunday. Shows start at 9.45.

For more information see their website – www.thevenuejomtien.com

X-Men

Small beer bar next door to Cafe Ritz. Open from 4pm to late, and has a decent crop of boys. The boys are very willing and make you very welcome indeed. It’s growing in popularity and will do well if it can maintain this. Nice place, try it.

Zen Cocktail Bar

Brand new cocktail bar in the Jomtien Complex. It opened on the 1st October.

They are right next door to P2 (also a cocktail bar) and we are not sure who they are aiming at? But the sofas are comfortable, the service is friendly and the waiter (only one on the day we went) is helpful.

The drink are expensive, but the ambiance is good. It’s a case of “you pay your money and you take your choice”
