Tukcom Pattaya

Tukcom on Pattaya Tai

Tucked away at the back of Tukcom, just off Pattaya Tai Road (Pattaya South), Soi Day/Night is a collection of three parallel roads. They each have a “kink” in the middle and there are a couple of unnamed cross streets joining them. They are centred around the New Day Night hotel and this is the feature which gives them their name.

Tukcom is an amazing store. 6 stories of computer and electronics mini shops gathered into one building. But walk out the back door and you’re into another world. The Soi day night area has seen better days. When it was at its height, the Flamingo hotel ruled the roost and there were gogo bars like the birdcage, show bars and a thriving gay scene. Now however it’s mainly an area for restaurants and a few massage places.

The New Day Night Hotel

There are some of the “one room” massage shops, but these come and go too quickly to be noted. However there are four longer established ones and they are listed here. I’ve also listed the two really long term “sex massage” places.

But I’ve already said it’s for the restaurants that Day Night is known. And that is the feature I will concentrate on. Not all the ones I list are gay, but they are all gay friendly. To use a horrible term, the ones that are gay are “straight friendly” and that makes for a cosmopolitan area. It serves as a satellite area for Sunee Plaza, many of whose patrons go there for an evening meal, before heading off for an evening’s entertainment elsewhere.

The area is re-inventing itself this way, and there’s nothing bad in that. If you like French Cuisine this is probably the area in Pattaya to come. It will establish itself as one of the dining quarters for Pattaya and so move on to the next incarnation. Good luck to it!
